Our gas engines support many types of fuel, from the high energy content in Propane through Natural Gas, Bio Gas and a range of Synthetic gases each Guascor engine and its fuel system is optimized to extract maximum performance, durability and low emissions applicable to the fuel type.

The gas engines run with the following range of gases:

  1. Syngas is produced from a range of organic or fossil based carbonaceous materials by heating the material without combustion.  The main elements in Syngas are Hydrogen and Carbon Dioxide.  Syngas produced by organic materials is considered a renewable fuel
  2. Landfill Gas is produced from the breakdown of putrescible materials within a landfill. Typically, landfill gases contain about 60% methane (CH4) however can contain many other elements depending upon chemical reactions within the landfill due to the composition of the landfill materials.
  3. Sewage Gas is a type of Bio Gas produced by the breakdown of organic materials via anaerobic digestion or fermentation. The characteristics of sewage gas are similar to those of Bio Gas
  4. Natural Gas is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas found in deep underground rock formations.  Natural gas is the most common fuel used in gas engines.
  5. Coal Seam Gas is mainly methane that is stored in the solid coal matrix  it is liberated during the process of mining of other recovery techniques such as hydraulic fracturing.
  6. Coal Seam Gas is mainly methane that is stored in the solid coal matrix  it is liberated during the process of mining of other recovery techniques such as hydraulic fracturing.
  7. Biogas is produced by the breakdown of organic materials via anaerobic digestion or fermentation, the main elements in Bio Gas are Methane and Carbon Dioxide. Like land fill, Bio Gases can contain other elements that must be considered in gas engine applications.
